Lubbock, Texas is home to a lively community that loves to come together for local events and activities. From concerts to local performances, there’s a lot to see and do in this tight-knit city. Vines & Wines Festival – Taking place at McPherson Cellars, the Sixth Annual Vines & Wines Festival is a unique event designed to offer the community a taste of some of the best wines throughout Texas. Proceeds will be donated to Meals on Wheels. The event will include food trucks, live music, vendors with Texas specialty products, and much more! This year’s Vines & Wines Festival runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 12th and May 13th from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.. The $20 entrance fee is well worth four hours of great fun!
Over the River & Through the Woods – Those in search of a local performance will find it at the Lubbock Community Theater from May 12th to the 14th. The performance follows an Italian-American from New Jersey who sees his grandparents every Sunday. He’s soon offered a dream job, but his grandparents don’t want him to leave. What follows is a comical few hours of schemes to keep their grandson in New Jersey. The performance starts at 9 p.m. and prices may vary. Check out the event website for more information.
Night Hike at the Lubbock Lake Landmark – Those looking to get more in tune with nature can do so by attending the “Landmark after Dark” night hike. Taking place at the Lubbock Lake Landmark on May 20th, hikers should bring water and appropriate footwear. Flashlights are prohibited. Best of all, the night hikes are free to attend!
It’s easy to see just how close the community of Lubbock is, what with so many events designed to bring everyone together! From a wine festival to a natural night hike, there’s a fun family activity for everyone.
